![]() ![]() How come on their end they can tell me which tolls I went though or missed but on my end, when I pay, I have to do the guesswork? It seems like it's designed to trap you. They put a $20 fine on each toll I missed and since I missed five and only paid for two, that added up. I was very surprised at this so I called the number on the notice. I just got a notice in the mail telling me I owe them $104.00. I had to map out to the best of my knowledge which tolls I got on/off. She said simply to get an EZP On The Go at a retail location (there are many in NY) and then register that EZP on the Web site. So many people have unwittingly gotten stuck with a Port Authority EZP and its accompanying fees.īut she had a great suggestion, which I will try. She was sure that if you're from upstate NY, you'll be given a Thruway EZP elsewhere in NY or out-of-state, you won't know until you receive the EZP in the mail. So how do they determine which EZP (NYSBA, Thruway, Port Authority) you receive when you apply? It's based on geography and other factors, an algorithm that none of the customer service reps know. It is also true that if you go through their individual Web sites, you end up at the same application form. It is true that NYSBA and Thruway do not charge any fees Port Authority does ($1/month). Actually, I called three times until I got a rep who was amazing in her knowledge. To clear up the confusion about the three NY entities that can issue EZP, I called customer service. So all in … does a lot more than a basic EZ Pass Plus it’s 100% account manageable / customizable on line It is that one & done convenience that’s attractive It’s also nice cuz it it transportable between vehiclesĪnd comes in black or white to blend in with most car decorĪnd although it’s a tad more to buy & set up from other e-toll services Then it went on to amalgamate all these 19 states into just one pass / transponder that does it all It originated in Florida … (IIRC it used to have a different name) … and is the go to choice for snowbirds for sureĬuz it effectively amalgamated all of the previous Florida Toll Roads into just one pass … If one drives a lot of the USA regularly … Eastern Seaboard thru to the Great Lake States Note that most toll station lanes you go thru give you no idea that your transponder is actually working (some do give a green light that the transponder is recognized) but mine worked fine for the entire trip. It will also work on the Rainbow Bridge, Whirlpool Rapids Bridge (NEXUS card required) and Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. use these lanes) with E-PASS, SunPass, LeeWay, PeachPass, NC QuickPass, E-ZPass, RiverLink and I-PASS toll systems.Į-ZPass will work on Canada’s Peace Bridge, which connects Buffalo, New York, with Fort Erie, Ontario.
